My Home

One of my best friends dubbed our home "The Honeymoon Cottage," when we first got married, and ever since, the nickname has stuck. I told her it sounded so much cuter than "The Love Nest."

To give you a quick background....

We rent this house from my Father in Law, who lives within shouting distance next door. This is a "family home" of sorts. My sister in law and her husband lived here a few years ago while they were building their current home. When Aaron and I were first engaged and talking about where to live, my Father in Law offered this house to us, and after some prodding from him, we finally accepted.

When he turned "possession" of the house over to us and gave us the key he told me I could do absolutely anything to it that I wanted to, aside from knocking down walls or adding rooms on. But still, whenever I have a huge project in mind, I usually like to run it by him first, just to be safe. He is the landlord after all. :) Check out my Home Evolution Series to see just how much the little place has changed over our 6 years here.

So let's get the tour started!

LIVING ROOM:
I wish I had some non-Christmas pictures to show you, but we decorated for Christmas the week after we painted, so all I've got is Christmas decor! I'll try to remedy this come spring when my spring/summer stuff comes out!

 All decorated for Christmas!

From the opposite end of the room.

Wedding gallery greets you when you walk in!

OUR BEDROOM:

Hi. Dis my bed. My hoomins sweep in it too.
How cute is this little hairball?!

Pillow covers from Hobby Lobby.

BATHROOM:
I don't have a ton of photos of my "ultra glamorous" Mamie Pink bathroom. It's nothing special. But I'll share what I've got!
My goal for the bathroom is to keep is light. The walls are painted a pink tinted white, seriously you can hardly see the pink at all, and we have accents of aqua in the room currently.

KITCHEN:
Again, it's all decorated for Chrismtas... I'm sorry! When we painted the LR, the Kitchen got a fresh coat too!
My open shelving is my favorite thing ever!
